Kevin Kilbrei

Kevin can remember riding his bike as a five or six year old, proclaiming to other neighbourhood kids that he was as fast as a speeding bullet. His love for riding has continued to grow, although he has come to realize that he is nowhere as fast as he once believed. Today, Kevin rides for fun and races competitively not only for the physical benefits, but for the sense of personal accomplishment and the feeling of community. Riding and racing with like-minded people, such as my fellow Team CMU members, is something he thoroughly enjoys—and the friendly competitive spirit between us keeps things interesting and motivates us to push our limits.

Kevin is married to Debbie Kroeker and is the father of Ben (9), Kate (7), and Margo (5). Kevin graduated from MBCI (‘90) and currently is employed in the Marketing and Corporate Communications group at Pollard Banknote in Winnipeg and also serves on the Camp Arnes board of directors. He and his family attend The Meeting Place in Winnipeg.

Yayyy!!! Finis!!! Are you all going to be there to greet Gogos and Arvid, too??? What a wonderful way to spend 2:43 a.m. on a summer night in Winnipeg, Manitoba, I wish I could have been there…opportunity missed. But I’m soaking up all the blogs and twitters and videos….soooo proud and happy, and entertained!!!

You guys are amazing. It looks like you’re getting stronger as the hours pass. Now all that is left is to blow away the old bitties and head home.
I’d like to be there when you arrive but that is the exact time I get my warm milk and cookies.

    Whisky-Daddy,
You are awesome and I hope you’re having a good time. You rock so much! You are the best dad ever.
    Love,
    KK Jr.
P.S. How long are your whiskies* now?

*Note to readers: whiskies = facial hair
Kate calls KK Whisky-Daddy based on his facial stubble, not his beverage preferences. I wonder what I should call him based on his LEG stubble, which may currently be at its peak…? DK

  6. Margo says:

    Daddy,
I have a song for you and the only two words in it are “Super Daddy”. I sing it all day long. I will sing it for you at the finish line.
    Love,
    Margo

  7. Debbie says:

You have never seen the kids so proud of their heroic dad! Your team is lucky to have a RRR member on the team. Have they admitted that yet?

Great job and see you at the finish line…much sooner than expected! :)

    Go KK GO!!!

You guys rock, I feel like I’m there with you with each update. But sadly I’m not, instead painting my house in a city you’ll be arriving at in no time! Painting is hard, grueling work, requiring much will and determination…you have no idea!

    Go get him!
    Stu
